We released Fushigiboshi no ☆ Futagohime Gyu! 11 “Passionate! ☆ The Décors of First Love”. The video is now BD-based. Note, 1) Perhaps we will eventually do BD-based v2 releases for older episodes, but obviously subbing newer episodes (12+) is much more important for fans who love Futagohime, than redoing the older episodes. 2) Furthermore, in this specific case, the differences between DVD and BD are rather technical, almost unnoticeable to untrained eyes (see for yourself); this BD-BOX is not a regular HD BD, but SD (640x480), same as DVD-BOX.
October 23, 2022
- Yōkoso Yōko 03: Updated and re-encoded on Oct 14 (RC5), then on Oct 22 (RC6), which is likely to be released soon.
- Yōkoso Yōko 04: Typeset done & test-encoded on Oct 14 (RC1).
- Yōkoso Yōko 05/06: Both translated, to be typeset.
- Gyu! 12: Slightly tweaked on Oct 16 (RC3); this version is likely to be final when re-encoded.
- Hime-chan’s Ribbon 43: updated & re-muxed on Oct 22 (RC3); this version should be releasable. [Minor updates: RC4 on Oct 22, RC5 on Oct 28.]
September 30, 2022
- Yōkoso Yōko 03: Updated on Sept 24 (RC4), but not yet finalized (3 additional minor tweaks are planned so far).
- Yōkoso Yōko 04: Typeset 50%, translation is solid, though not yet carefully edited.
- Yōkoso Yōko 06: Pre-timed 50%, being translated.
- Gyu! 12 (RC2): should be good enough; to be final-checked.
- Hime-chan’s Ribbon 43 (RC2): to be final-checked.
- Hime-chan’s Ribbon 44: now being edited.

- Yōkoso Yōko 03: Re-encoded yesterday (RC3), now near-final.
- Yōkoso Yōko 06: Being pre-timed.
- Gyu! 12 (RC2): now near-final, though still being QCed.
- Hime-chan’s Ribbon 43 (RC2): re-edited and re-encoded today!
September 1, 2022
- Yōkoso Yōko 03: Re-encoded (RC2) on August 27, now being QCed/udpated.
- Yōkoso Yōko 04: Translated but not fully TLCed/edited yet. OP changes very slightly starting from Ep 4, some of the original credits being shown differently; the script was re-typeset accordingly (Aug 31).
- Gyu! 12 RC2 was encoded (Aug 27), to be QCed. This one is probably near-final, potentially it’s final and releasable.
- Gyu! 13: should be translated next!
- Hime-chan’s Ribbon 43: RC1 was encoded and QCed one year ago (Jul/Aug/Sep 2021) but then it became inactive. However, hopefully we can resume this project now that one of the old editors (working for HCR) is back!
- Incidentally, our team — honobono — was born 20 years ago, around September 1, 2002. So today is like our 20-year anniversary!

- Yōkoso Yōko 03: Typeset and encoded (RC1) today (Aug 7).
- Gyu! 12 RC1 was typeset and test-encoded on Aug 4. To be QCed.
July 31, 2022
- Things were slow in June and July (except we helped Stardust-Fansubs with Sweet Mint).
- Gyu! 12 was timed on May 25, 2022, and after a hiatus, is now being typeset. To be test-encoded shortly, in the first week of August.
- Then we will do Yōkoso Yōko 03+. YY 03 & 04 were already translated in March (more or less ready to test-encode), and 05 was translated in May (to be checked). 06 should be translated next.

- We are working on Yōkoso Yōko, eps. 2, 3, 4, and 5.
- Gyu! 11 is ready to release. The raw is now BD. The video quality of BD is slightly better than that of DVD.

February 18, 2022
- Today a new BD raw was created for Futagohime Gyu! 11. The source is an SD BD (640x480), so not so different from DVD. But motions look a little smoother and more stable, and each frame is slightly cleaner too. Gyu 11 RC3 script is near-final, already re-timed for the new raw.
- Yōkoso Yōko (YY) 02: the script (ASS) is basically ready to mux, with a few lines not yet finalized. The raw (video part) for this one was also created today.
January 23, 2022
- Gyu11: RC2 test-encoded yesterday. The script itself is near final. Also, we had bought BD (both s1 and s2). The visual quality of BD may be a little better than that of DVD (in theory, it has 10% more pixels), although this BD is not HD and the difference is not obvious. In order to switch to BD raws (which we plan to do), we’ll have to redo frame-timing and somehow refit the logo sequence (click to enlarge):
As you can guess, rendering this logo is not trivial. Preparing the logo for new raws might take some time.
- YY02: Yōkoso Yōko is active again! The script for Episode 2 is already solid. Currently being typeset.
- BoDv2: The status remains the same: English subs are ready, waiting for dut/ita/spa subs.
- HCR: Unfortunately, currently inactive.
- Sweet Mint 11 (by Stardust): RC1 is being QCed. The script is already solid.
It has come to our attention that a Brazilian Portuguese fansub team, Nadja Applefield (NAF), speed-subbed Yōkoso Yōko Episode 1 (YY01) by demuxing and rewriting our script (ASS). We released YY01 on December 23, 2021, around 23:30 UTC; Nadja quickly retranslated our English subs into Portuguese, and released their version just in 22 hours, on December 24, 2021, around 21:30 UTC.
To be clear, we did not explicitly allow them nor explicitly disallow them to do this. They just did that without our knowledge. So, although there are ethical questions, Portuguese-speaking anime fans can enjoy YY01 subbed in their language. If Nadja people see this, please contact us via IRC or email. We’re not angry about what you did; just as fellow YY fans, it would be nice if we can somehow join forces. In some old projects we have multisubbed in Brazilian Portuguese ourselves, and you guys might want to use our HQ raws.

- Gyu11: Test-encoded.
- Sweet Mint 10: Finally it’s been released from Stardust! Hopefully more episodes are coming soon. (Officially, Sweet Mint is not a joint project with us.)
- BoDv2: Although being delayed, perhaps Spanish subs will be also added. Hopefully we can release it this month.
- YY: Unfortunately the translator is being so inactive now that we’re not sure when we can prepare Ep. 2.
- FH/Gyu: We may re-release the files, using BD raws. However, these BDs are SD; the visual quality may be only marginally better than the existing files using DVD raws. We’ll see.
