The link to http://www.tcp.com/~doi/alan/webguide/entry/tMBL.html is dead, but one can see the archived version. Also there is an archived version of Death of Fansubbing (Mayday-Anime Features: Editorial on 2002-07-22).
Our earliest fansub releases include Those Who Hunt Elves II, Ep. 8 (2002-10-06); Tokyo Mew Mew, Ep. 14 (2002-10-14); Floral Magician Mary Bell, Ep. 1 (2002-11-16); Rizerumain, Ep. 13 (2002-11-17); and Oh! Super Milk-Chan, Ep. 1 (2002-11-26). We were in #Honobono @ irc.mircx.com, at least in 2003.

[ HONOBONO ] Honobono is a Japanese word for "a tender feeling," "a tender affection," "a warm glowing in the heart."

We are a fansubbing group with experienced staff for "deep" anime fans. We don't go for superficial excitement such as violence, action dramas, killings, enormous robots, etc. We do not deny the value of such animes, and we are fully aware that such animes are more popular and more wanted. However what we are going to sub and introduce is another kind of anime: Not so sensational but lovely. Simple but thought-provoking like a haiku. Not so well-known but exquisite, eccentric and funny.

What's Honobono?

[ HONOBONO ]

Honobono is the Japanese word for "a tender feeling", "a tender affection", or "a warm glowing in the heart."

We are a fansubbing group with an experienced staff, dedicated to producing animes for those with an esoteric taste. We do not support superficial excitement such as violence, action dramas, killings, enormous robots, etc. We do not deny the value of such animes, and we are fully aware that such animes are more popular and more in demand. However, we will be subbing and introducing a different genre of anime: less sensational, but lovely. Simple, but thought provoking like a haiku, unfamiliar but exquisite in its eccentricity and humor. ( 2 Sept 2002 )
